Breakers Bring “A” Game for Home Crowd

        The Breakers home opener was exactly what the fans wanted, but better weather would be appreciated next game. After a disappointing first loss to FC Gold Pride the Breakers came back fighting. They looked much more like the team that everyone expected them to be with a 2-0 win over St. Louis Athletica.

        Once again Kelly Smith was a force on the field and was instrumental in the two goals.

BOSTON, Mass. – You have to think that five years ago, Kristine Lilly couldn’t have pictured the scene that transpired at Harvard Stadium Saturday night.

On a cold and damp April night, with temperatures hovering in the thirties, 4,804 shivering souls turned out to see the Breakers triumphant return to Beantown with an impressive 2-0 victory over a physical Saint Louis Athletica squad.

Breakers Fall to FC Gold Pride in First Match of the Season

      The Boston Breakers season has officially started, although it might not have been the start the team or the fans were looking for. In their first game the Breakers faced FC Gold Pride with a disappointing 2-1 loss.

      Despite looking impenetrable on paper it was clear that a solid lineup, in theory, still could not match actual game experience.

BOSTON, Mass. – A year ago, one of the world’s best footballers had to work a regular job despite playing for Arsenal. Oh, and in addition to her club duties, she also had to find time to play for her country’s National Team.

So you can imagine that when the chance to play football on a full-time basis came knocking, Alex Scott ran to the door.
